The definitive songs for each Beatle. Which one do you like the best, Imagine, Maybe I'm Amazed, My Sweet Lord, or Photograph?

I think you should have entered some other Paul`s song. (which could really be able to stand up against the others)

Maybe I'm Amazed was just the first one that came to mind.

That's the thing about Paul, he doesn't have a definitive song.

"Maybe I'm Amazed", "My Love", "Band On The Run", or "Mull of Kintyre" could all be considered his definitive song.

I think Maybe I'm Amazed is a magnificent song and can more than stand up to the other three(it even has an, imo, memorable emotional guitar solo).

I like Maybe I'm Amazed and My Sweet Lord the most. Imagine is great, but I've heard it so many times. Photograph is nice too.

Agreed. Imagine has been commercialized to death. If I hear "Glee" or someone on American Idol sing it again, I think I'm gonna puke.

Maybe I'm Amazed is my favorite of the four songs listed. I like the version on the McCartney album the best.

I like the other songs too.

Guhh, that's such a hard one!!
Even though I love "Maybe I'm Amazed" to death, I feel more of a connection towards "My Sweet Lord". The lyrics really summed up what George really wanted, and it was sung and arranged perfectly.

I like "Maybe I'm Amazed" the most.I'm pretty tired of "Imagine", I've never really liked "My Sweet Lord" that much (George has much better tunes) and "Photograph" is nice, but nothing more.
So my ranking would be something like :
1.Maybe I'm Amazed

2.Imagine/My Sweet Lord/Photograph

I think that a song being overplayed (like "Imagine"), doesn't make it bad, it just can make you tired of it, that's all, but the song is still good.

Different. I like all of those songs for different reasons. I might be able to pick one, if I imagined I was going to a desert island and could only take one.

I love Paul and his solo career. I really do. And "Maybe I'm Amazed" is a fabulous song. But...I just adore "My Sweet Lord." I love the feeling that George put into it and how devoted he is to religion.

I don't think it's fair to use Maybe I'm Amazed as it is a stand-out album track where the other three were big commercial hit singles.
I think Jet or BOTR would make for a better comparison, if you're looking for a big hit single from the early solo years.

In which case I'd go for ...

1. Imagine
2. Jet or BOTR
3. My Sweet Lord
4. Photograph

Incidentally, Imagine wasn't released as a single in the UK until 1975 - four years after the album came out. It was released to help promote the "best of" compilation "Shaved Fish" and got to number 6 in the UK charts. It had been released in 1971 in the US though and had been a big hit.
