Singles - Real Love b/w Baby's In Black
« on: May 17, 2010, 01:09:37 PM »

I actually bought this one as a cd-single. Although many prefer Free As A Bird, I like Real Love better. Not that it is good or a single to be proud of. Probably Yoko knew what demo's to give to Paul, George and Ringo. She made sure that her beloved husband came out best of this project. lol

Although I love 'Free As A Bird', I don't really like this one that much. The song's charming but not brilliant and I don't like how they integrated John's demo into the newly recorded parts: John's piano very abruply comes in when he starts singing and it's just as abruptly switched off when he stops. I realize it must've been very difficult to have to work with such a lo-fi recording, but I think that somehow the problem with the piano on the original demo could've been solved more gracefully. That always annoys me when I listen to the song.

I never liked 'Real Love'. Just boring and lacking. 'Baby In Black' was a good choice for the B-side as its a stinker too.
