ive been looking into buying pedals recently, and wondered if anyone has any tips or experience when experimenting with beatles sounds. i play a casino on a blackstar ht 5 combo. its a great little amp and very versitile. i want some good pedals that give me a wide variety of 60s tones which the blackstar wont do on its lonesome. ive been lookin at the boss blues driver bd-2 to help get some of those stones sounds, but im a newbie at the pedals so wud be groovy to get some advice :)

Those Blackstar amps are serious kit and the casino sounds great. I play bass or acoustic really so not mega into pedals. You would definitely need reverb, tremelo, fuzz, vox wah wah type stuff. I know Boss/Roland do some great tube pedal boards that our guitarist uses. He pulls off Hendrix & Harrison amazingly and even through a transistor combo it sounds the nuts. I'll try and find out which model it is.

I forgot to mention the rotating Leslie cabinet but wouldn't want to lug that bit of kit about live without a roadie. heheh

cheers man this is some great info lovin that me-70, looks like it can produce alot of groovy sounds. i am lookin for something that can cover all bases and my limit is bout 250, this is definitly a front runner at the moment. ive become fixated on getting the right sound, and 60s rock is exactly what im aiming for, theres so many great bits of gear out there, its just getting the one that makes the casino and the blackstar blend well together. im lovin some of the modernised 60's expreimental tones that bands like jet are producing. their distorted tones and overdriven solos sound great epecially on the get born album

That looks pretty good for buck. Definitely a contender against the Boss and more Beatle orientated. ;)

Alot people in the late 80s and early 90s used rack setups, and Ive always wondered why this was used. So many people used Alesis, Rocktron, rack set ups, but fewer people use them now.  What advantage did using a rack set-up have over using a traditional amp and guitar?
