Ringo Starr Celebrates Birthday With 'Peace and Love

Ringo Starr has asked fans to spread "peace and love" in honour of his turning 71 on Thursday, July 7. The drummer wants fans around the world to mark the day by tweeting, saying or just thinking what has become Starr's mantra.The former Beatle has made a habit of asking fans to spread the message over the last few years. The tradition started in 2008 when, after reprimanding fans for sending him memorabilia to sign, he concluded with his by-now-familiar catchphrase "peace and love.
