Meet the Beatles by Stephen D. Stark
« on: March 14, 2011, 01:45:00 AM »

I recently picked this book up because I was looking for a different perspective on the Beatles, rather than just the same old biography that I've read a million times. It's a cultural study of the group: what shaped and influenced them, and how this, in turn, had an impact on their influence on the world.

What I found most interesting was the section on gender. This book explored the Beatles and gender in a way I had never even thought of before, and I consider myself to be pretty feminist.

All in all it was an enjoyable read and I actually felt like I came away having learned something.

Here's the amazon page in case anyone is interested:

I am posting on an internet forum, therefore my opinion is fact.
