Yoko attends BMI London awards

Yoko Ono made a surprise appearance at BMI’s annual London awards and dinner last night as John Lennon’s Woman was honoured with 4 million US radio plays.Ono received a standing ovation at the event at The Dorchester Hotel on London’s Park Lane as she picked up the award for her husband’s track from their 1980 album Double Fantasy. Four Beatles songs also received multi-play awards: Let It Be (6 million), Michelle (6 million), Eleanor Rigby (4 million) and We Can Work It (4 million).“I’d like to say thank you,” Ono said as she accepted the award. “John would have been very pleased. We have been at BMI all this time and I think it’s a good idea.”
