‘Classical Mystery Tour’ a symphony of Beatles

Rare items from the era of the original Cavern Club go up for sale

A SELECTION of items from the glory days of the original Cavern Club is attracting attention from music fans worldwide after being put up for auction.
They include a distinctive Reslo ribbon microphone and a small piece of the original stage, both from the time of the Beatles.

Madness turn to Beatles designer Peter Blake for new album cover

The band - best known for such hits as House Of Fun and Our House, turned to the pop art guru to create the artwork for Oui, Oui, Si, Si, Ja, Ja, Da, Da, which will be their tenth album. Blake has designed covers for Paul Weller and Oasis as well as the classic one for the Beatles album.

Honouring work of ‘Fifth Beatle’ Stuart Sutcliffe

THE man they call the Fifth Beatle, who “fell in love with art” at Prescot Grammar School, is to have work displayed in a charity exhibition.
Stuart Sutcliffe, who attended the school in the 50s, will have his work honoured at the Museum of Liverpool this month alongside pieces from the likes of Yoko Ono, Sir Peter Blake and Noel Fielding.

Fans' Fab Four tales becomes 'Beatles Stories' documentary - video clip

Three days shy of the 50th anniversary of the Beatles’ first single, “Love Me Do,” a new documentary film celebrating the magic the Beatles still hold over their fans will be released on DVD.

ORILLIA - Peace, love and mop-topped music will be the order of the day when the Orillia Beatles Celebration returns to the Sunshine City for its sixth year.
The Sept. 14 and 15 festival is the only one.
