British Bands & Artists
« on: February 27, 2013, 11:17:04 PM »

The big ones;

Beatles
Stones
Led Zep
Queen
Pink Floyd
Elton John
David Bowie
Moody Blues
The Kinks
Emerson Lake & Palmer
Cream
Deep Purple
Black Sabbath
Eric Clapton
Yes
Oasis
Coldplay
Adele

and a host of lesser names like Sade, The Searchers, The Yardbirds, The Animals, Hermans bloody Hermits etc etc

My question is why is there so much musical talent from this small island nation of 60 million people ? is it something in the tea & cucumber sandwiches ? ;)

I don't agree they all have musical talent, but they have a popularity indeed.
I wondered too why so many pop music is from England. I think it is just suitable conditions (time, language, same minded people, mode).
Why the greatest operas were written in Italy and Germany?
