RIP Adam West
« on: June 10, 2017, 06:34:28 PM »

Adam West, the original Batman, has died at 88.  :'(  I grew up on the original Batman series; I adored it. I still watch reruns when I can catch them.

What a sad loss. In spite of his illness he kept working, into this year even, and has remained a well-known name. I remember Batman in its original run and then early in its syndication, thanks to my brother. It remained very popular by the time I was in elementary school, though more so with the boys I think. I have to dig back in my memory a bit to remember what the show was like because I didn't really watch it on my own as an older kid. It's coming back to me though! But that song...I loved that!

This is neat. It puts the show into its historical perspective.

Oh no. I loved Batman as a kid. Sad to see him go.

Yes, Adam West will be missed.  He'll be remembered most for the role he created for television.

The TV series was "camp" just like the comics...

And you never knew who they'd meet climbing up that skyscraper...

And there was Batgirl!

Yvonne Craig, who played Batgirl, passed away two years ago.
