There's a wider version of that picture and, if you can locate that, the lad on John's right is none other than Peter Sissons, a very well news-reader/journalist in Britain.
What are the chances?!

I'm pretty sure that Jimmy Tarbuck turns up on a school trip photograph, it might even be the same one, with John.

Just as you say, the blonde haired boy to John's right is Peter Sissons. The grinning dark haired lad with the clenched fists on John's left is indeed comedian Jimmy Tarbuck, "The terror of Woolton" as I believe Pete Shotton once called him!

They were on a school trip to The Isle Of Man.

I'm surprised to see a photo of Ringo in London in the fifties. A school trip? Maybe, but that doesn't look entirely like a school uniform he's wearing and he didn't spend much time at school. So how did he get there? Any ideas?
