Been playing this one a lot lately:

Beastie Boys - Time to Get Ill

Hmmmm....hadn't seen that back-of-the-album shot until I posted this link. I know the record came out in 1985, but that looks creepily 9/11-ish   :(
I recall some media discussion about that album cover back then. They also had to delete the scene where a helicopter got caught in a web strung between the twin towers in a Spiderman movie just about to be released!

Barry likes to pretend that he stopped paying attention after The Beatles broke up but he still had his radio on after that!

There was no way anyone could miss that song in 1982!

But before Laura Branigan's Gloria we had...

Don't blink or you'll miss the donkey! That was rather random yet interesting.  ;D

There was a bit of a revival of rockabilly in the late 70s.  Rocky Burnette did his share as a tribute to his dad.

He even appeared on Solid Gold.  I cracked up when I saw the Solid Gold Dancers dancing to Tired Of Toein' The Line.  Rocky seemed amused by it too...

Solid Gold (1980) Season 1 - Rocky Burnette - "Tired Of Toeing The Line"

It was 1980...Disco was in agonal rhythm.  Line dancing was still a few years off.

Those were nice opening routines on Solid Gold, but nowhere as good as...

It was laughable all right! The Shindig one is much better. That's why I always wished I'd been born about 10 years earlier.  With no YouTube yet I had to wait for those Dick Clark specials with the great clips.

There you go, talking like a doctor again.  ;) That would have been great on a t-shirt. I thought I might get in trouble for wearing a "Disco Sucks" t-shirt but this would have gotten me extra credit in bio.

I got my "Disco Sucks" T shirt at a Jethro Tull concert! I remember my dad seeing it and asking me "where are you going with that on?" I said "Out!" he said No your not, change it!" Lol!

That's funny! I remember being really surprised to hear Johnny Carson use the word "sucks" in a monologue around 1983. I always thought it was a pretty bad word.  ha2ha

It was fun hearing this song for the first time and having it dawn on me that it was a precursor to CSN's "Carry On".
