Today has marked the annual run-out for the Trader Horne record from 1970 on Dawn.

If you haven't heard it, it's probably the most hippy (a very good thing) album ever made, by the original, and beautiful, singer from Fairport and a former member of Them.

Actually, I've just thought of a more hippy LP, and one with a heavy Beatles link, The Fool's album from '68. I must dig that out, I think I'm the only person in the world who loves it! Oh, and the Giles, Giles & Fripp LP as well.

I used to own The Fool album. Haven't seen that around for years. It would be a hoot to find one.

Giles/Fripp I've got.

Good fun.

So many people thought that song was about drugs.  Based on what John Kay said and the lyrics, it's about listening to music.

I like to dream yes, yes, right between my sound machine
On a cloud of sound I drift in the night
Any place it goes is right
Goes far, flies near, to the stars away from here

Well, you don't know what we can find
Why don't you come with me little girl
On a magic carpet ride
You don't know what we can see
Why don't you tell your dreams to me
Fantasy will set you free
Close your eyes girl
Look inside girl
Let the sound take you away

Last night I held Aladdin's lamp
And so I wished that I could stay
Before the thing could answer me
Well, someone came and took the lamp away
I looked around, a lousy candle's all I found

Well, you don't know what we can find
Why don't you come with me little girl
On a magic carpet ride
Well, you don't know what we can see
Why don't you tell your dreams to me
Fantasy will set you free
Close your eyes girl
Look inside girl
Let the sound take you away
What, is he dead?  Sit you down, father.  Rest you.
