Is it me, or do the first few bars of that song sound a lot like Pachelbel's Canon in D?

Moogmodule

If you ask some classical musicians every pop song sounds like Pachelbel's canon.

In this case it does certainly bring it to mind.

Right!  Here's another song you can relate to, Todd...

...Lindsey Buckingham let Stevie Nicks have it right there alright!

And he continued his justified assault five years later...

Wait!  What was that awful noise at 3:32 in that 1982 video?

Nevermind.  It was Stevie Nicks.

It's time for you to get back to your drum kit, Todd.  Sina will show you what to do...

Apropos of that, I didn't realize it was held in such poor esteem by classical musicians: https://parkersymphony.org/why-musicians-hate-pachelbels-canon

Sounds like it's the wedding musical equivalent of Corinthians 13:13.   ;)

I had to smile at the article suggesting Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring as an alternative. That's a completely overdone wedding song as well, right up there with Pachelbel's Canon, in my opinion. And Clarke's Trumpet Voluntary.

By the way, Lou Christie's Rhapsody In The Rain was banned by many radio stations in 1966.

They edited the original vocal track to come up with this "clean" version...
