Howard Stern will bomb on satellite radio.

I think legendary shock jock Howard Stern will bomb when he hits satellite radio even more so than Sirius would want to admit.  His schtick is way too predictable & too mainstream these days to be shocking after over 20 years & moving to satellite radio won't give him an edge anymore.  I predict Sirius will regret their decision in about 5 years hiring Stern because I don't think his large audience will follow him if they have to pay.  Speaking as an old Van Halen fan I think David Lee Roth replacing him is about as cool as you can get with his in your face attitude but this will be his last hurrah.

Freedom of speech is alive & well in the U. S. & Bush didn't take it away from you but Stern will bomb on Sirius in the next 5 years because his schtick isn't so called shocking anymore just too damn predictable after all these years.

Well, I don't know about you, but I just have to wonder if Howard Stern is too predictable and mainstream these days to be successful on Sirius. I don't know if he's shocking enough or not to make it.

"HOWARD STERN" is prehaps one of the few things that will work on sirus! He has a huge fan base that will pay for the pleasure of hearing him daily without the  "FCC" breathing down his back! Predictable "YES" so what? FREEDOM OF SPEECH is all he wants to be able to act like a buffon and let his audience call up and swear if they want to! That hallow sucking sound is all the listeners leaving conventional "FM" radio to listen to Sirus! He's still the school loser who never got the girl which= the every day guy who will pay to hear what he has to say. On a separate note Mon football is going to ESPN pay Tv Stern will get more listeners to sign up than ESPN will for MOn football.

I doubt Stern will fail. He's already attracting listeners because he's programing some insane stuff on his station. He's not going to satelite to curse, he's going there so he can talk like an adult without worrying about saying something a 12 year old says and getting fined. People think his show is all about naked women and crude talk. That's just not true. He has three people in the studio he talks with about EVERYTHING, and a whole list of people that frequent the show who are hilarious. He also does great interviews with very cool people and has bands play on his show. McCartney and Ringo have both been on. I just tune out when he gets obnoxious, but I only listen to about the first hour, and that's when just talks. On a side note, and I've said this before, he or one of his sidekicks mentions the Beatles at least once a day. They did everyday this week. They love them. One of them got way offended this week when someone compared WEEZER to the Beatles. That cracked my up. Yeah, Weezer are this generations Beatles. Right.

Old topic but I agree 100%, I use to listen to Stern every morning. Until the station here dropped him. I didnt listen to here him talking to naked woman and porn stars, I listened just to hear them talk about everyday things. (What they do most of the time) Most people dont realize they only show the sex stuff on the TV show on E! channel. If you listen to the whole 4 hour radio show about 30 minutes to an hour is devoted to talking about sex stuff. Its a really laid back show and you know that they are giving their true 100% opinions. Not like other talk shows where they say what they are expected to say. I cant wait for Sirius and if I have enough money I will definatley pay for it just for Howard Stern. (Robin is the best)

I don't know if I'll get sirius or not. I think it would be kind of cool to have radio stations that play specific kinds of music without commercials. I think that's how it is. Like a whole station just devoted to classic rock or alternative or whatever. I don't know. I have to research it more. Plus, I don't care to listen to Adam Corolla in the mornings instead of Stern. But it's better than what the East coast gets. David Lee Roth! Yeah, I'm sure he'll last. I wish Van Halen would just take him back already and go on some big reunion tour. Put the poor guy out of his misery.
