We have a thread for TV, we need one for books!
In a book that I just finished, Son of the Mob 2 by Gordan Korman the main character goes to film school in L.A. and lives near Ringo. He and his friends go on Ringo lookouts and at the end of the book, they are celebrating a certain thing and start singing Octopus' Garden.
(the whole Ringo thing is actuallt just a tiny detail in the book, BTW, it's not even part of the plot)

I guess there are tons of references, so we've got homework now.

I was reading Pet Sematary by Steven King, there was a brief Lennon reference. "Say the chorus of "Instant Karma" instead," something to that effect. I don't have the book on me, so I don't know. ._.
In The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole (again, don't have the book -- don't know if I even have the title), his mother is pregnant and is screaming "A Hard Day's Night" while having the baby.
A book called Carved in Rock -- short stories by rock musicians -- has one called "Liverpool Fantasy," and it's kind of an alternate sceneario of the recording of Please Please Me.
There are SO many Beatles references in The Beatles Anthology... ones like you would'nt BELIEVE, man. XD;;;

i read a diary about a drug addicted girl called, Go Ask Alice, no one knows if it was fiction or not, but she mentioned how her friend left to work for money to pay rent, and heard "she's leaving home", and how she started crying.

I read one that showed a girls Myspace/Facebook type page ( not a real site though) and it said her favorite group was 'Lenin McCarthy' then later the Beatles song 'Yes It Is' was metioned. I also just read a book where A guy's favorite band was Blondie (the book was titled Debbie Harry Sings In French) and in the beginning his baby sitter was looking through his mom's vinyls and they were almost all Beatles or Wings. Then later he bought a pair of Beatle Boots. I just love reading, don't you? lol. My favorite thing next to music!

not sure if this counts, but in a book called 'George Burogen' (forgot the last name) there's a husband named George, and a wife named Hazel, and their kid's name is Harrison. :

I LOVE THE OUTSIDERS!!!! Thats like my favorite book of all time! I even read it to my little brother That's a great book. I once did an essay in grade eight where I compared the effects that the Beatles and the Outsiders had on teenagers in the sixties.

*joins the club of "The ousiders"-lovers* It's hard to belive Susan E Hinton was just 17 when she wrote it ! I think I have to rewatch the movie this evening And there's another Beatles reference in it: Socs like Beatles and think Elvis is outdated and the Greasers think it the other way around - thats about the only difference according to Ponyboy. I once did an essay in grade eight where I compared the effects that the Beatles and the Outsiders had on teenagers in the sixties.
That sounds pretty interesting, Mairi !

Thats cool! My teacher had me read it in 5th grade when everyone else was reading a different book, I don't remember what it was though. But it's been my favorite ever since
