Quote from: An_Apple_BeatleI still got my Epiphone Viola. I really rate it. 'The Bee's' frontman Paul Butler told me that he had used the Epiphone on his first album 'Sunshine Hit Me'.

He kinda made it pretty big after that and bought a Hofner. He told me that for the extra money, you don't get the extra sound.

Me? I'm still very happy with my Viola. I do have a Warwick and a Precision aswell though. Sureley the Epiphone Viola could see you through right up to the point where you get real serious and getting better gig money' perhaps for a more expensive model. That my friend is entireley up to you. ;)

I heard the Epiphone Viola isnt truly semi-hollow is that true?

An Apple Beatle

I would say it isn't. Still plays a beauty though. ;)

The fretboard is so rinky dinky and I have found it does (sub, aswell as consciously) get you plodding like Macca.

My only jibe is the finish of the wood and the headstock could be a bit more Hofner like but for that money what do you expect?

I compromised and I get both looks and sound. When someone wants to start paying me proper money for my Beatle performances then I may consider a 62 re-issue Hofner. Until then, this little beast is doin fine.

I wish the Guitar Center or local music shops around here would have the viola. I prefer Semi-Hollow body.. but I never know if I could just get to try one out.

Quote from: Mean_Mr_MustardSince you work in a repair shop, would you happen to know anyplace where I can buy hofner volume knobs and tuning knobs for my Rogue? I want to make it look as much like a hofner as I can.

Let me check on it and I'll get back to you. The only problem that might occur is that the pot shafts might be a different size than the knob openings and you might have to change the pots (volume and tone controls).

Ok thanks, I have another question :p.

Many people online have told me I can buy these Banjo tuner knobs (http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Knobs/Tuner_knobs/Banjo_Tuner_Knobs.html) They look a lot like the Hofner ones and they are only 75 cents each. A couple people who own the Rogue VB100 that I have, have said they fit on perfect. Is it really possible that they could fit? I think I am gonna do it, Its only $4 bucks for 4 of them. :D

I thought you were talking about  vol. and tone knobs, any of places I listed could help you with tuner knobs, but I thinks "all parts" is your best bet and I think they have a wharehouse in the UK as well  "all parts uk"

Mean_Mr_Mustard

Oh I was talking about all knobs LOL! Thanks for the sites.
