Now this is what I call crazy and insane. Sorry, mate, Bon Jovi fan here. Take some others Prince for example or Queen.

I understand what you're saying, but Jon Bon Jovi is just too pretty & his band too clean cut not to be thought of as gay.

I think your comments may be indicitive of you're own homosexual tendencies. Not that there's anything wrong with that. If you're gay, you're gay. Salute.

Good Lord this is a weird thread! I don't see anything gay about the early Beatles. I don't remember Paul and George's cheeks ever touching and I don't think Brian putting them in suits was to gay them up. That's what people wore in the early sixties. He just knew that dressing in leather wouldn't get them on the Ed Sullivan show or anywhere else for that matter. And btw, what could be gayer then leather? I mean, if Brian wanted to cultivate a gay image he would have kept them in the leather and told them to grow handle bar mustaches or something. Strange that people see them in this light. At any rate, this thread is making me want to reinstate my old signature pics.

Oh, and could someone let me know where this cheek touching incident happens? Cuz I'd like to see that.  ;D ;)

Not being a 1963 vintage homosexual i hesitate to speak on their behalf. But The Beatles did have a very new, fun, liberating image compared to previous rock acts. I can only assume that what turned on all those women in 63 also turned on gay men. I don't for a moment think Brian tried to give them a gay image. (if such a thing even existerd in 63.)

Quote from: TaxgirlYeah, the Beatles guys being gays or being concerned with gayness is absolutely absurd...(chainsaw)(fire1)(angry8)(scream3)

Just for context, a nice photo of a Beatle. Gay? Never. ;)

That photo was taken at a fancy-dress party for existentialists or 'exies' - so no gay connotations here, especially as Stuart was dating Astrid at the time!

I don't understand how you could make a blanket statement that someone is gay because of a picture. Stu was an artsy fartsy type, so what if he looked a little effeminate in that picture. Brian Epstein was a gay as a picnic basket, but it would be tough to tell from any of his photos. He was very dapper, his mannerisms weren't overtly gay. You  can't judge a book by it's cover, and that seems to be running rampant on this thread. I'm sure there was many an old man that wrote them off as being queer after seeing them on the Ed Sullivan show with their 'long hair'.

Can you imagine the early Beatles with crew cuts?

Anybody photoshop that for us?

Boom-sha-boom . . . .

People call everything "gay" now.  I don't even know what it means.

Kevin

I hoped my smiley face showed that I wasn't implying Stuart was gay, just that it is a very gay photo. I was respondoing to Taxgirls statement with a wink and a smile.
Anyway, enough. This was all supposed to be a bit of fun.

The only fags were Brian and John. Come on, you all remember their little episode together.

Are you watching Seinfeld by any chance? not that there's anything wrong with that ;D - classic.

here's an article I found in Times online:

Fey Four: Beatles outed as gay icons
Robert Booth
THE Beatles have been outed. The Fab Four

Bobber

Now what exactly defines 'gay music'?
