Sure, it's kind of cool, actually.
My dad was working in Scotland at the time and he was hitchhiking. Who picked him up in an old truck but the one and only Paul McCartney? My dad isn't one of those "idol worshipper" types, so when I asked him what they talked about, he replied the most mundane topics ever. Justthe weather, and he asked Paul how he liked the spot. Typical Scotsman I guess. Meeting Paul McCartney and talking about the weather. But I suppose it was nice for Paul. You'd get sick of people asking for your autograph all the time.
As for Andy Kaufman, my mom was in Toronto I think for a college project with a bunch of her class members. They were getting in the elevator and they saw... "is that... no it can't be... Andy Kaufman?" (This would have been duringthe '80s when he was on Taxi). They were all going to a party, so as a joke, they invited him. Imagine their surprise when he said yes! My mom got to talk to him. She said he was sad and kind of lost.
