Nah... I prefer working for a boss. I like the steady income, not having too many responsibilities, not having to take any risks, being able to drop everything a 5 PM...

...being fired...

Yeah, but if you're a freelancer you can lose your job as well. I know quite some people who have worked for themselves but had to start working for a boss again because they couldn't get it together financially. And some of these people are still stuck with a huge debt.

And it's also a matter of knowing yourself... I know I don't have the self-discipline or drive to be succesful as a freelancer. I work to live and not the other way around cause I need time for my music and writing as well.

I think it's really smart of you to say that, Joost. Most people don't have that much self-awareness.

Thanks!

I got a great gift from my parents and my brothers: a three day trip to England to see Newcastle United - Chelsea next month. :)

This is an interesting topic! When I was younger, many companies tried to fire me so many times that they failed. I learned how to beat the system. Now I'm a Manager with very big responsibilities and can do the hiring and firing as I please but I am fair. I realized that I wanted to be a leader and not a follower, why? Because being a leader, I can make a difference and change things in the workplace such as the BS politics. In reality, there is no such thing as job security but I do my best in making sure that the workplace is a happy and productive environment for my subordinates. Happy 33rd "B" Day Joost. Take care.

Looking forward to it. Should be fun to see. But apparently his family will supervise the script, so I hope they will let him be portrayed like he was and not too "cleaned up".
