Quote from: 284no...there was a tidbit actually called the badfinger boogie....
it's on one of the outake albums somewheres....paul had a basic melody he played...and worked it into a song and i believe that what he called it the b f b....it did indeed it seems become with a little help from my friends...

A Hard day's Write tells us that John had an injured finger at the time, so it was initially known as Bad Finger Boogie (p.122).

Quote from: 63Discarding The Iveys' '60s pop sound in favor of a rockier edge, the group changed their name to Badfinger (passing on McCartney's suggested 'Home' and John Lennon's suggestion of 'Prix').

Could this really have been a serious suggestion from John?

Perhaps it was pronounced "pree" as in Grand Prix!!! Or maybe it really was pronounced "pricks"!!! LOL! ;D

Always loved Badfinger.........a band with so much promise, but ended up with so much tragedy.  Very sad.  I did get to meet Joey at Beatlefest a few years ago, that was very cool! He seemed like a really nice guy.........
.....it really doesn't matter if I'm wrong I'm right, where I belong I'm right, where I belong.....

Quote from: 59George Harrison produced a lot of their stuff.  Just after the Beatles broke up, Badfinger was supposed to be "the next Beatles."  How could any group replace the Beatles?

One more attempt at a replacement was in the late 70s.......The Bay City Rollers.  What were they ever thinking?

The Byrds were called the "American Beatles" when they became popular.....it's always a mistake to do that with any band!  They can't live up to the hype.  Now the Jonas Brothers are being compared to the Beatles.......when will it stop?

Absolutely love the Finger!  Some of the high school garage bands I fronted performed "Baby Blue" , "No Matter What", and "Carry On Til Tomorrow".  I saw Tommy Evans' Badfinger with Tony Kaye in 1982 in rural Mass.  It was okay but Evans seemed down and subdued.  He was dead within a year.  Shame of shames what happened to these Prince's of Wales.  How does Stan Polley face himself every day?  I recomend both the documentary  and the band's biography penned by superfan and record producer Dan Matovina.
