The threads were identical, so I merged them. Could you not use the lists on this thread to make your ranking list, otherwise we have two threads for everyone's favourite albums in order!

I'm pretty satisfied with the final points list.  I could quibble with bits of it, but why bother?
I'd also include MMT on any list.  I understand the arguments against, but as a Beatles experience -- I scratched my older brother's copy all to hell on my Emerson suitcase, and went out and spent $5 on a new version to replace it as my first LP purchase -- well, what is there to say?  It's as much a Beatles album to me as any other.  Being five years old and digging I Am The Walrus makes me sad for today's 5-year-olds.  So very sad.
And my least favorite -- probably BFS -- is still something I've listened to more and enjoyed more than any non-Beatles album.  A-n-y.
Love to all

Sorry, but I have to fight this battle every time it comes up. MMT was an  album compiled by Capitol Records, unsanctioned by the group, containing old hits, b- sides and songs from the UK EP.

It's an official Beatles album now (since the CD era it's been included as an official album.) I don't think you can compare it to the Hey Jude "album" because MMT is made up mostly of new songs that were written specifically for the project and none of the 11 songs on the album (except for "All You Need Is Love" which was also included on Yellow Submarine) were released on any other album (not counting greatest hits compilations of course.) So I think the comparisons to other compilations albums isn't really valid.

I understand that it wasn't an original Beatles album like the others but... I don't think it's as cut and dry as you make it out to be.

Only the first 6 songs were written for MMT. None of the remaining 5 were. The only reason it was ever put out was that Americans didn't buy EP's. So, a compilation it is, and a badly put together one at that.

Yes, as it was released in the '80's.
