Abbey Road  - The End
« on: March 13, 2008, 05:27:50 PM »

Just before The End on Abbey Road, The Beatles give us that fantastic guitar solo exchange. Who is playing which solo? I take it John, Paul and George are all playing, but which one is which?

I will tell as soon as our Mastermind Quiz is over. You see, it is one of the questions there and I don't want to tell before the quiz is over.   ;D

Oh, and welcome to DM's!

I think the Masterminds quiz is a great idea, but reading the request from this new forum member makes me wonder if it is getting in the way of one of the main points of the forum - helping people learn about the Beatles.

I might be a bit chuffed if I came to a forum with a question like theirs and was told essentially - "I know the answer, but I won't tell you now because blah blah blah". You see, a new guy (maybe not this enlightened soul, but certainly some others) might not understand why the reason for not helping them out now is so important, and all they will read/hear is "blah, blah, blah".

Maybe give the poster an answer to his question and change the Mastermind question? There are other options, like PMng the poster with their agreement not to answer that specific Mastermind question, but that doesn't help out the next guy who might have the same question ... seems a little bass ackward, doesn't it?

Respectfully -

Oh come on, this isn't such a big issue, is it? And besides, the answer is all over the internet if you really want to know it. A paranoid thought might be that this new member is Alexis in disguise, trying to find out the answer!  ;D

You're right, it's not such a big issue, especially to those who have been on the forum for a long time. I was just bringing it up from the point of view of making this place as friendly as possible to visitors/newcomers.

And I guess I'll just have to find a different source for the answer to that specific Mastermind quiz question ... oops, sorry, delete that!

You could always PM him if you like. And the quiz is only eleven questions! Mind you, it won't be an issue next week, because hardly anyone seems interested.
