Thank You Bobber , it's an irregular heart beat they have detected , i may need a pacemaker .
But i'm OK and posotive and looking forward to being slim again , there is a history of heart problems in the family , my dad as got to 77 yrs old with his , so i expect to be around sometime yet (smile)
It's since i've stoped smoking pot the problems began which is a bit annoying , my new years resolution is to get fitter and healthier (smile)

Take care of yourself Dave. I have a friend who's had a pacemaker for about 20 years, and never had a problem.

My thoughts are with you Dave. I'm sure everything will work out. They can do wonders today. My family also has a history of heart problems and the ones that took care of themselves and actually followed doctor's orders are doing great. Keep positive. Believe it or not, but that often makes a huge difference.  :)

I saw the heart consultant on Friday and got the results back from some of the tests i've been having .
My ECG is showing Tachycardia episodes which is basically an irregular heart beat , it's going to be treated with medication , so i've been put on Atenolol and Simvastatin .
They are going to monitor me , to see if the medication works and i have to lose two stone in weight and improve my level of fitness as it could be better .
So it's a healthy life style for me from now on , my Sex Drugs and Rock 'n' Roll days are now behind me (thumbsup)

DaveRam! Take care of yourself. Exercise is the most important thing, and diet. I'm sure you can get into shape if you're just consistent. I lost 2 stone last year-- it took a few months, but it worked! So I'm sure you can, too. (BTW sex is a great exercise... just saying do NOT put those days behind you...)

Hi Dave, I hope you're doing okay.  I used to suffer from episodes of tachycardia as well, plus another kind of irregular heartbeat (which I've forgotten the name of).  In 2004 I was sent to the hospital for a cardiac ablation (an outpatient procedure, not major surgery) to get my issues taken care of, and I've been okay since.  So I've been down that weird, scary road too and I totally sympathize with you.  Take care!!

Edited to add:  Oh yeah, and stay off caffeine if you can.  I know it's hard (especially during early mornings) but it's better for your heartbeat regularity.

Thank You  ,eveybody for your kind support (smile)
I've decided not to go down the gym route to get fit , i'm going to get back into swimming yesterday i went to the local pool and did 25 length's , i'm going to try and get to the pool 3 or 4 times a week , it seems more civilized then sweating on a running machine .
I'm going to do some walking too , i've a couple of friends who are well into that , so i'm going to join them on their Sunday walks in the Yorkshire Dales , might even go on walking holiday this year in the Lake District , all this lovely countryside is only an hour away from me , so i might aswell get some country air into my lungs .
Even thinking of becoming a vegetarian again have tried this a few times in the past until the bacon butty got the better of me (teeth1)
And i will keep the sex in my diet harihead , might even build that up to two minutes (rolling3)
