KE, Penny Lane, and Octie (since you guys seem to be the ones keeping up with this)... I was hanging out with boy between our exams today. When we weren't studying or playing this RPG that we're both on, we were just talking and it came around to the relationships talk again, he said that he'd rather be in my shoes and that maybe people confuse the longing for a feeling rather than just an actual relationship. So naturally I'm taking that as a we're just friends. As much as it hurts I know that we're better off. Thanks for your advice girls!
I'm so sorry things didn't work out the way you had hoped...I can understand why you would feel hurt.

But you sound wise in accepting that things might be better this way, and maybe your situation will change for the better in the future.
For all it's worth (maybe this story will make you feel a little better?), my romantic relationship with my husband had a total crap beginning. LOL. We were friends in high school and I had a huge crush on him. He eventually found out about my infatuation via a busybody friend, and although I was horribly embarrassed, I hoped he would like me back too. About two weeks later I gathered up the courage to ask if he shared my feelings too, and he said he didn't. I pretty much died after that. However, for whatever reason, we became much, much closer after this experience and in the end he wound up realizing that he did have feelings for me too. Now we've been together for almost eight years (dating and married time combined). Kind of a weird love story, but I guess the point of it is that unfortunate situations may have the possibility to turn out very well in the long run. (Or that guys are emotionally stunted...just kidding...

)
Anyway, John decided to pop in and cheer you up:
