The only picture I have on my computer right now (of the whole house)  is from about a week and a half ago.



now we have the whole roof shingled, wiring done, windows in, basement floor poured, and the basement's framed.  SO CLOSE

I've been reading that Polaroid is going to start making film again, on a limited basis. As a photographer, what do you think of this?

I think it's really good.  I find too much photography to be over processed, or over edited.  Sure I'm guilty of editing the picture for my Facebook profile picture or what not but it just irks me when there's pictures that are photoshopped to pieces that get so much praise.  Don't get me wrong, I love my digital but I started out with film, you have to be a better photographer to shoot with film.  I guess it's kinda like recording in that way, bands in the "early years" had to be better at their craft than they do now.  Just my two cents I guess.

I agree. I love the convenience of digital photography, but Photoshop and such, anyone can edit the heck out of a poor photo to make it look good, and then they get tons of praise.

lol, thanks.  It's definitely starting to look amazing!  I'm addicted now to furniture shopping, it's the biggest room I've ever had, 13 feet x 13 feet!  So I'm on the Ikea website like every other day, looking for something that can house my printer, books, pictures, school stuff, records and eventually a record player, tuner, speakers and all that jazz.

So excited for these next couple of weeks!  Then again, I'm sure you're pretty excited too Octie!  What are you doing after, a master's degree?  Working?

lol, thanks.  It's definitely starting to look amazing!  I'm addicted now to furniture shopping, it's the biggest room I've ever had, 13 feet x 13 feet!  So I'm on the Ikea website like every other day, looking for something that can house my printer, books, pictures, school stuff, records and eventually a record player, tuner, speakers and all that jazz.

Sounds exciting! And fun What colour are you going to make your room?

I've always found this quite amazing with houses - at first you walk past and it's just a plot of land with a bit of concrete and iron bars and that, but a few months on there's a fully-fledged house standing there  Must be even more amazing when it's your own house

I got a graduate job at an accounting firm, so assuming my marks are OK and I pass this year, I'll be doing some fulltime work there.
But until then, I'm gonna to take a break and unfrazzle my nerves

How's study going for you?

My room's green, something a little darker than a sage green I have a dark red comforter for my bed (I've had it since I was 16), lots of natural wood so I'm trying to go with a lot of neutral pieces, black and white type deal.  It's so awesome though, my mom went though on Friday and took pictures of every little part of the house, there's still some things that they need to fix/finish but it's coming together

I'm sure your marks are fantabolus and you'll work out just fine with your job!  Not to mention the unfrazzling, might be a good thing lol!  Do you plan on going anywhere or just stay around where you are?

School's going pretty good   3rd year bio is seeming just like a mishmash of a bunch of different courses, this term I have a first year psych, second year patterns in life's diversity (basically a combination of ecology and evolution), second year organic chemistry (again... :-/) and third year population ecology.  Socially going amazingly, hitting up the gym with a couple of friends from high school at least once a week, going out to the bars with the same friends at least once a month, hanging out with the boyfriend as much as possible (the friend from last year... yeah... lol).

Wow, I talk too much.  How are things, other than school and work going for you Octie?  How about KE?  I've seen her on, haven't talked to her much though!

Actually we don't have any direct neighbours yet!  The beauty of a new(er) development lol!  The one house beside us is a model home (probably won't have anybody living in it for another 4-5 years) but the other people around that we've talked to seem pretty nice so far   I guess every year they have a giant block party type deal at the end of the summer.  Just all around friendly people.
