It's gotta be The long and winding road' for me and instructions are already left though I might add 'In my life' and 'always look on the bright side of life' as the encore :)

Cremation for me, no windy muddy, rainy slogs to the cemetery for my lot.

Quote from: 568My friends (twin brother musicians) played In My Life at our wedding (my wife's and my wedding, not the two friends and me).

When I die, I'd like to have "I'm Down" as the theme song. Seems to make sense, right?  ;)

Unless it's cremation for me, in which case "Fire" by the Pointer Sisters (or The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, or whatever the name of that group was) will do just fine!

I like the above specification!
Very well thought-out songs. The titles speak for themselves.  ;)

Quote from: 682At my grandpa's funeral, my brother in law made a tribute video for him and I picked out the songs and I chose, In My Life and Follow Me.

Follow Me???  ;)

The majority is thinking about cremation. I also think it`s scary to lie in a dark wooden thing with no air...I start to remember the movie To Kill Bill...It is so vividly shown there.
And meanwhile I`ve hit 2000!!!

Mrs Lennon

Something tells me that I shouldn't be cremated. I want to be in a grave 5 feet in the ground.  :)
Music is like candy; you throw away the rappers.

Too cool, yah?

BTW the place in the graveyard is very expensive nowadays. Unless you buy somewhere far away from the city. And a small monument is very expensive too. And somebody will have to look after it, to take care, to clean...What thoughts, my god!

You know, i probably wont really care what they play... I mean, i wont be listening would I? And in that case I would like it to be a surprise, you know, someone can choose those songs for me.
I'd like to be dug in as oppose to floating in the air. I could have more visitors that way.
My mom told me some songs she wants for her funeral.... that was a bit out of the blue
Gosh, what a grim subject!

I dunno about you guys, but I'm the "celebrate a life, don't mourn a death" kind of girl myself.~
I was thinking of having a luau for my funeral... BBQ and limbo, you know? ^^
"End of the End" will probably be played, I'm hoping, but I really would like some upbeat stuff that has nothing to do with death.~ "Help!" or "Taxman" seem to fit the mood I'm going for. =3

Quote from: 216And funerals are depressing.

They don't have to be. When two of my friends died 7 years ago they had funerals with punk rock music and people giving speeches like they were in a bar. It had it's charm, it suited the way they were.

Well............death is so "final".  And with there being heaven or hell..............I think you live your "hell" on earth while living.........look at all the crap you've got to put up with.  When you're dead..............just peace..............

Sonic Blue

I would opt for "Fields of Gold". I'm not a huge fan of Mr Sting but that song strongly Resonates with me. (Paul McCartney cites it as a song he wishes he had written) And best of all it has Kathryn Tickell on Northumbrian pipes.
The purpose of life is to find out 'Who am I?', 'Why am I here?' and 'Where am I going?
- George Harrison in 1992.

Brynjar

In My Life for me. That's actually my all time favourite Beatles song.
They were the most brilliant, powerful, lovable, popular group on the planet. - Q, 1995.
