Photographer Iain Macmillan was given only 10 minutes to shoot the cover photo for Abbey Road.
There are 18 Beatles songs with a woman's name in the title.
Smoking pot in the Queen's bathroom. This event, which occurred while the Beatles were receiving their MBEs from the Queen, appears in many Beatles unauthorized biographies. The Beatles were asked the question, did you really nip into the bathroom at Buckingham Palace to share a joint? in the Anthology documentary. George Harrison commented that it wasn't true, that they were just sharing a normal cigarette because they were trying to get away from the crowds and they were nervous. It was something they always did back then -- nip into the bathroom and share ciggies.
Ringo had a different answer: "I don't remember, I was too stoned at the time."
John wanders off to the unprotected rooftop of Abbey Road. One evening John wasn't feeling too good. George Martin, producer and "fifth Beatle" advised him to go up on the roof to get some fresh air. When George heard, he ran up to the roof, because he knew John was high on LSD. Paul also ran up to the roof, where they found John near the edge, looking at the stars. There was no railing! Paul talked to him for a while, and they agreed to go back to Paul's house (a short walk from Abbey Road), where Paul decided to join John on his trip. It was Paul's first trip.
Is "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" about LSD? This notion is finally laid to rest along with other myths. John's lyrics for this song are based on his son Julian's drawing he made for school, which he had titled "Lucy in the sky, with diamonds." There is no mention of what John was on when he wrote it.

John Lennon saw a UFO in 1974. He ran around shouting, "Here I am! Come and get me!"
Paul was regularly the first Beatle dressed for performances.
When Paul's dad, Jim, first saw his baby son, he cried because he was so ugly. (He later realized that babies always look like that just after they're born)
Rumor has it that George got too drunk in Hamburg and threw up on the floor. None of them wanted to clean it up, so they left it there and watched it get more disgusting every day. It became an inside joke and they called it a "fiendish thingy."
Ringo's biggest dream was to be a hairdresser.
Rumor has it that John had speakers hidden on the exterior of his Rolls Royce, and liked to ride in his car, making funny noises (like flatulence and stuff) and play them for everyone to hear.
Paul and Pete Best got arrested in Hamburg because they stuck a condom to the wall and set it on fire.

Ringo Starr did not play with the Beatles on the studio recording of the single 'Love Me Do'. The drums were in fact played by Andy White and Ringo played tambourine. The Beatles turned down the chance to use the song 'How do you do it' for their first single. It was instead used by Gerry and The Pacemakers and was their first Number 1 single.
The least known excuse for Pete Best leaving the band is that he refused to have the 'Mop Top' hair cut that was made famous by the Beatles.
The 'Mop Top' came about when John Lennon got his hair cut by Jurgen Vollmer in Paris.
Vollmer himself had the cut and was persuaded by Lennon to cut Paul's and his.
Bob Wooler, the DJ at the Cavern introduced the Beatles 292 times between January 1961 and February 1962.
The Beatles first salary at the start on the 292 times at the Cavern was £5 and their last one in 1962 was £300.
Ken Dodd, the famous Liverpudlian comedian, had the Beatles thrown off stage when they supported him once in Liverpool. Then 2 years later in 1963 he had them on his radio show... Paul McCartney said, "We've worked with you before Doddy, at the Albany Theatre" and Dodd said "That noise wasn't you was it?" to which McCartney replied "Yeh, we were awful weren't we?" and Doddy replied "you certainly were, I had you thrown off."

This is wrong. Paul first took LSD in 1966 with his friend Tara Browne. Page 380, third paragraph, first sentence under the heading "Expanding the Field of Consciousness" in the book "Many years from now" by Barry Miles. There is also an entire paragraph quoted by Paul about the subject. Paul took acid for the second time with John on Tuedsay 21 March 1967 during the Sgt. Peppers sessions.
Ahhh, the contradicitng facts. I dont think anybody knows the whole truth about this band.

Honestly, I didnt mean anything by it Ssarah. I love your facts threads and they come in handy as quick references, its just that I had that piece of information right in front of me. Heck, my post is probably wrong. I just wanted to point out how the storys criss cross and sometimes its hard to believe one thing when something or somebody states something else. Please dont be mad.
