Honestly, I didnt mean anything by it Ssarah. I love your facts threads and they come in handy as quick references, its just that I had that piece of information right in front of me. Heck, my post is probably wrong. I just wanted to point out how the storys criss cross and sometimes its hard to believe one thing when something or somebody states something else. Please dont be mad.
You said it best. It's doubtful we will EVER know the full truth about these guys, so much contradictory information. The fact is the story was always that Paul's first trip was the John/roof situation, yet he contradicts himself in Miles' book. John himself was all over the map, contradiction-wise.
Aunt Mimi bought John his first guitar and didn't like the idea of his pursuing a career in show business. She told him, "The guitar's all right for a hobby, but it won;t earn you any money." When John hit it big, he had a silver plaque engraved with that quote and presented it to her.

@tkitna, in their official biography, Paul says he tried it the first night when he drove home with John (right after the roof experience).
In my opinion, this is probably the socially accepted quote from McCartney (what the public wants to hear). I'm not saying the book i'm reading is correct (God, how many books have contradicting facts?) but it is pretty much a biography of Paul and in my opinion, I think he is more open and truthful in this book than any other i've read so far (more personal). So, we have one quote from McCartney stating he tried LSD firstly with John on his drive home, and we have a second quote from McCartney stating that he first tried LSD with a friend and then tried it secondly with John. I think either one would be acceptable. Nobody really knows. Heck, Paul probably doesnt know for sure. Maybe too much LSD.
The first four Beatles releases have "you" or "me" in the title. It was done deliberately to help the group form a more personal connection to its fan base.
