Abbey Road is in no way better than Sgt. Pepper's. I am sick to death of people saying that Sgt. Pepper's is overrated. Whether it's their best is a matter of taste, it's a known fact that Sgt Pepper's is The Beatles' most influential album. After years of being put up on a pedestal everyone is taking jabs at Sgt Pepper's just because it's such a great album and they feel all big and special to be saying that such an important album is overrated.

You're so vain, you probably think this post is about you.

The fact that "Abby Road" was their best selling lp really doesn't prove it was their best lp. There were some great songs on it but, overall Sgt. Pepper has way more! Fixing A Hole, Lovely Rita, A Day In The Life, there are much greater songs on this lp than Abby Road. Some of the songs on that lp sound like they were just bits and bites spliced together! Sgt. Pepper is not overrated it came out at a time when nothing else compared to it!

"Turn me on deadman" are you aware that there is an entirely "acquestic" version of the "White Lp" out there? Every song without electric guitars and "Ringo's drums!" I have heard some of the songs off the internet from it.

I've always loved Pepper. It was the first Beatles album I ever heard. I couldn't believe the music they were able to make. It was magical. I fell in love with The Beatles forever. Some people say it's dated, but I still love it. From the fan noise of Sgt. Pepper to the stupendous ending of A day in the Life,I get carried away into a world of joy and psychedelia that's so rich with images and music that I never get tired of it.
I feel like I'm at a circus when I hear Mr. Kite and its swirling sound effects. I love when John adds "it can't get much worse" to Paul's "it's getting better all the time". Similarly,I love the interplay in With A little Help from My Friends between Ringo and the rest of the band and the exchanges between John and Paul in She's Leaving Home. Lucy reminds me of a world like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with all its wild word imagery. When I'm 64 reminds me that we're all getting older and we should enjoy The Beatles as much as possible for as long as we're alive.
God bless The Beatles and Sgt. Pepper for providing me with countless hours of bliss.

People can say that Sgt Pepper's is overrated all they want - we all know that it is just a wank.  It's already well known here that I firmly believe that Abbey Road is the Beatles finest moment BUT to degrade Sgt Pepper's is like wiping your bum with the Bible or the Koran.

Go and look up the charts of 1967.  Find out what tunes were in the top 20 prior to the release of Sgt Pepper's (other than Beatles tunes) and listen to them.  Now listen to the album and tell me that it is overrated.  (Another interesting exercise is to listen to tunes released in the months after Pepper's release and see how many of those had been influenced by the Beatles)

The last bit to add to the argument is find me an album that is still revered, much loved and still draws the same price to buy as a current top 40 cd almost 40 years after its original release...  If you can find it, I'll buy it.

Here's another clue for you all; the Walrus was Paul...

"There's always dust rising after a good horse". If Sgt. Pepper wasn't such an important and great album, no one would be talking about it so many years later. Go Sgt.!

Sgt Pepper's introduced Progressive Rock Music.

I'd like to say thank you on behalf of the group and ourselves, and I hope we pass the audition.

Its easy to find. Here's an Ebay link. Once again, this is not a plug for this Seller, its just the info and track listing:
