Helpmen jee jee
Anni´s, 9, and Vikke´s, 6, opinion is that world greatest band is The Beatles
“Soon comes the best song, the one who starts: van tuu trii foo” Vikke Laine says and eats soup. Tape recorder is on the kitchen table and from casette you can hear Vikke´s favorite group: The Beatles. Other Vikke´s favorites are Abba and Kangarooband, but Beatles is absolute number one. “They got so good voice.” Vikke says and jumps to the floor to play air-guitar, when his favorite song - I saw her standing there began. “Best part of the song is when they began to sing”. Vikke thinks that fast and rocking songs are much better than slow ones. In his favorite cassette is only one bad song -Baby its you, “because is slow and they sing sha-la-la-laa”. -Taste of honey is “a little bit good, a little bit bad”.
Other young Beatles fan, Anni Eerola, 9, also thinks that the slow songs are much weaker. “They are more difficult to dance, because I am not used to ballet-things.” Anni got inrested from Beatles when she was 3 years old, when she listen her dad´ s records. -Martha my dear,- Lovely rita and -Continuing story of bungalow bill are her favorites, but best Beatle song ever is definitely -Help. At first Lennon, McCartney, Harrison and Starr become kind of friends to Anni, know as helpmen. Dad´s friends act as helpmen in need, so Anni could call them by phone, if she wanted to talk one of the helpmen. Anni also knows Beatles movies. She have not seen Yellow Submarine yet, but A hard days night and especially Help were “good”.
Young Beatle fans liking did not basic on words, as -Cant buy me love sounds like “Tsau matsu matsu maniilei, tsu matsu manillei”. -She loves you changes in childrens mouth to “silapsuu jeejee”
Vikke and Anni both know how the Beatles look like. Anni says they look young “except the drummer, who looks much older than other ones”. “I have get the impression that they liked animals” Anni thinks “maybe that’s why they looked so much like animals”
Vikke´s casette have ended and on the kitchen table are more dad´s Beatles records. Vikke looks long time the picture, where John, Paul, George and Ringo stared down from balcony. In front cover they are young and in back cover older with the beard. “The hair is not the same always” Vikke says eventually. We change the record. Now we are listening Revorvel, which was made in 1966. Vikke could not stand still and try to balance in the back rest of the sofa and hums along the -Eleanor Rigby in his impatience. “Its always number 6” meaning sixth song on the cd, his favorite - Yellow Submarine. From songs instruments he recognized guitar and drums, but “I think that they don’t make all voices by themselves. Some man is sitting in some box and push the buttons and makes those voices.” [ |
