Yeah, I hate you both. (I hope you don't think I am joking.)

And really, Patton miss spells words all the time in his posts...do you be a b**** to him Maria? No you don't. And it isn't that big of a deal! This is a laid back forum. It isn't something that has to be perfect. It's getting really old, really fast.  You must be one of the "Bully people" that picks out only certain people.

This is really the first time I have been really ticked off on this forum. It's just to the point where it is really old.  But of course you have NEVER spelled a word wrong. You and The End are perfect.

Did you intend to make a pun? No.

It was a piece of serendipidity, which The End caught on to.

And when I said it was a pity that it hadn't been intended by the original poster, I meant just that. It was a pity. When I make a pun or other sort of word play unintentionally, I'm always a bit peeved when someone else sees it.

That is what I meant. OK, now?

Hi Sarah,

I would never correct anyone's spelling on here - especially seeing as I'm crap and can't spell check my own entries! I just thought it was a very humourous slip - I wasn't laughing at your mistake, I was laughing at the word "whine" used to describe people maturing.

I'm really sorry if I offended or upset you - it was NEVER my intention. I honestly am sorry.

Friends again?

I think Gone Troppo is a mediocre album from George, but not as good as 33 1/3, this solo album is almost invisible, to Beatles fans & non-Beatles fans,  cynically speaking.

Gone Troppo is better than all of the other Dark Horse albums, excluding Cloud Nine. Half of it is really great, which is more than I can say for some of his other albums.

Rowdy, I'm coming to see we don't see eye to eye on lots of solo albums (though we both enjoy WILD LIFE!)

I think GONE TROPPO is hands down George's least album. I like the song Dream Away best, because it was from TIME BANDITS which was in the theatres around then.

other decent songs...

Those four songs you mentioned are my favorites from the album, and yes "Dream Away" is undoubtedly the best.....fantastic melody. None of the other Dark Horse albums that came out before Troppo have four tracks of that caliber in my opinion...

Here are some tracks I liked from other Dark Horse albums:

SOMEWHERE IN ENGLAND:
Blood From a Clone
Unconsciousness Rules
Life Itself
All Those Years Ago
Baltimore Oriole
Teardrops

GEORGE HARRISON:
Love Comes to Everyone
Not Guilty
Here Comes the Moon
Soft-Hearted Hana
Blow Away
Faster
Dark Sweet Lady
Your Love Is Forever
Soft Touch
If You Believe
* (HEY! That's the entire album! )

THIRTY THREE & 1/3:
Woman Don't You Cry For Me
Dear One
Beautiful Girl
This Song
See Yourself
It's What You Value
True Love
Crackerbox Palace

As I typed these titles I thought to myself, "oh come on, Rowdy - there are some great Harrisongs here!"  You really don't think any of those match GONE TROPPO's?

Thirty Three and 1/3:

This Song
Crackerbox Palace

George Harrison:

Love Comes to Everyone
Not Guilty
Here Comes the Moon
Blow Away
Faster

Somewhere in England:

All Those Years Ago
Teardrops

Gone Troppo:

Wake Up My Love
That's The Way It Goes
Gone Troppo
Mystical One
Dream Away

Troppo edges out George Harrison because the rest of its numbers are more interesting. A lot of the rest on GH is far too bland in my opinion.

Although George is my favorite Beatle, I have to admit, this is his worst album. The songs are not really good, and for my taste, I don't like the synth sounds on it. But I own the vinyl version as well as the new remastered version of the dark horse box set. And I#m glad to have it, because this album is even much better, than a lot of other stuff in the music market, 'cause it's one from George.

'Gone Troppo' is bad. I think its easily George's worst. Its got a few decent tunes as mentioned before (actually Wake Up My Love is a favorite), but all in all its pretty weak. 'Thats The Way It Goes' is so bad that its almost laughable. Sounds like a cross between The Beach Boys and the Oak Ridge Boys. Seriously Fried, dont judge a book by its cover (the cover on this album is its strongest point). Buy the other albums first if you dont have them yet.

"That's the the way it goes" is great.  I have thought about buying the cd because of this song.  The song could have been on Cloud 9 or his 79 album.  Great song.  Not dated like Wake up either.
