Eh? I just might have to watch that tonight! Although I haven't watched one episode of American Idol yet. I don't want to be sucked in! What time is it there Mairi?

Wow. I didn't know we had a four hour time difference! I guess I have a while before American Idol comes on then.

Yeah, It came on at 9:00 over here, even though the Fox station lists it as 8:00.

Hmm...She was okay, but what the hell did Simon mean saying the song choice was strange and that it made her sound older than she was and a bit caberet!!! I think the girl having the nerve to do Billie Holiday sounded more caberet! The Gloria Estefan thing wasn't so great either. But the judges always think the opposite of me. This show actually isn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Uk, okay I was thinking about if anyone would have the nerve to do a Janis Joplin song on this and the next thing I know some country chick comes out and does a HORRIBLE version of Piece of My Heart!!! That's wierd. Melisa Etheridge is like the only one who can take on that song. At least the one judge guy said it's not EASY to take on a Joplin song. No kidding. Come to think of it, there hasn't been anyone as powerful a female singer as Joplin since Joplin herself! That's kinda sad. Sad that she lived only 27 years.

There are a lot of pretty obvious Beatles references in "That Thing You Do!", but only Beatles fans get the ones where they aren't actually mentioned by name.

Recently I saw a Simpsons episode. "Mother" was played in that episode...
It's the one where Homer meets his mother for the second time.

They're playing the Lennon song Oh My Love on the Gilmore girls right now! Awwwwwww! And it's actually John singing it.

Yeah, they can play the real solo songs but not the real Beatles songs. That always bemused me for some reason.

I know it's wierd. Even when they play videos on VH1, they'll play a John, Paul, George, and Ringo solo video in order. Why the hell can't their videos be played!!?? Can you imangine if MTV were able to do a Beatles thing. It's be like that whole Monkies revival in the late 80's. Only bigger of course.

PS
Yes, there actually was a huge Monkies revival thanks to MTV. Strange as it sounds.

Does anyone else watch Instant Star? Haha, probably not, it's this Canadian show about what would happen if an Avril Lavigne type won a singing contest. Anyways, the main character's name is Jude Harrison and her sister is Sadie. It's a total Beatles nod.

Harrison= George Harrison
Jude= Hey Jude
Sadie= Sexy Sadie
