Hey, has anyone seen any Beatles references on the new episodes? I haven't been watching faithfully, and was wondering. I once heard that there was supposed to be a Beatles reference in each episode, but I doubt that. The episode I was watching tonight (old one) had a Pink Floyd reference in it! I can actually think of quite a few Floyd references actually:

1. Homer becomes a missionary and is getting high on toads, Marge tries to reach him on the radio and says, "Is there anybody in there?" A reference to the song Comfortably Numb.

2. The halapalooza episode Homer kicks a canon and is shot by a giant inflaitable pig. Peter Frampton says something like, "Great, I just bought that at Pink Floyd's garage sale!"

3. The episode where Mr. Burns goes broke he turns in cans to the recycling center and says to the hippie he gives the cans to " Shine on you Crazy Diamond."

4. A lot of the times when you see Homer in his room as a teenager, he's got a Dark Side of the Moon poster on his bedroom wall.

5. Ned Flanders sees the marching hammers from the Wall crossing the street on the crosswalk in front of his car, after drinking the herbal drink Homer made with the two hippies.

6. In the epsiode with the B-Sharps you can see the DSotM album in album rack that the B-Sharps album was in.

7. When Homer goes to college, there is a Dark Side poster in the dean's office at Springfield University.

8. I sort of remember this, Marge is calling about some parts to an old toy, and says "Is there anybody out there?" Kinda like the other episode. One she says in one she says out.

Anyway, thought that was interesting that there were so many Floyd references on the Simpsons! Not as many as the Beatles, but I can't think of another band that gets any references. Anyone know any references to other bands?

Uggghh there was a Beatles reference recently but I forgot it! I'm so stupid!

There is another one, but not as recent: There's an episode called Sunday, Cruddy Sunday.

Also, The Blue Man Group get some references. LOL.

The "you haven't heard the last of them" reference to Dexys Midnight Runners was funny.

Oh yeah, there's another Pink Floyd ref: In the one where Homer joins a freak show, he accidentally sets off a cannon with a inflatable pig in it. One guy says, "Oh man, Peter Frampton's gonna be pissed!" and he says, "You're damn right I'm gonna be pissed! I bought that pig at Pink Floyd's garage sale!"

There was a Floyd reference on That 70's Show. Eric was talking about going to see Laser Floyd. The only Beatles references they've ever done have been about Yoko I think.

I was watching this movie called Out of Sync, and this record producer was talking about the girl's horrible singing, and he said:

"She makes Yoko Ono sound like Barbra freakin' Striesand."

Lol! Poor Yoko. BTW, sort of a reference, but not. I heard on the radio today after a Beatles song and before Otis Redding's Dock of the Bay, that he was a huge Beatles fan and he wrote that song in the style of the Beatles. I don't see the similarity, but I guess he tried. Cool bit of info.

I heard the commentary of that episode. "Purple submarine!"
And they wanted "Golden Slumbers" in one of the episodes...Where Homer gets sleepy in his car and dreams he's taken away by angels.

And I saw Family Guy: Seems that Peter Griffin was a guard of George Harrison. Not a good one, though. "Wacky Beatle."

Did you see the one where Stewie introduces John to Yoko? Hilarious! And the animators drew them exactly right!

I would LOVE to see that one. I need to start watching Family Guy more religiously.

On the Gilmore Girls tonight, the daughter who is sitting in a Yale dorm room has a poster that says John and Yoko. It has a pic of John playing in Toronto. Cool.
