On Canadian Idol (my guilty pleasure) last week, they were doing a tribute to classic rock. Some of the images they flashed on the screen were of John Lennon and Paul McCartney & Wings. Strange that they included them solo but not the Beatles.

Another reference on Family Guy:
After playing the banjo Stewie said "I've got blisters on my fingers!"

I've seen a couple on Full house(okay...don't ask me why I was watching it). Uncle Jesse and Joey were looked in the basement.(Theirs a recording studio down their and their's a red light that goes on meaning that he's not to be disturbed) So they started shouting for help by saying "Help! Help!". So Danny and Rebbeca were in the kitchen and Rebbeca said "Do you think they are okay?" Danny says "No they're okay. Their just sing The beatles 'Help'".

Here's some Beatles references in movies. Man, they are everywhere!

"Remember what John and Paul said." "The Apostles?" "No. The Beatles. 'All You Need Is Love.'" -From the John Travolta movie Michael.

In Dumb and Dumber, Lloyd and Harry are in a restaurant by a jukebox. Lloyd says to Harry, "Look, they have the Monkees on here. You know they were a major influence on the Beatles."

In The Rock, Nicolas Cage receives a vinyl recording of With the Beatles in the mail at work. When his coworker asks him why it was sent here and not home, Cage replies, "Carla wouldn't approve. She's thinks it's dumb to spend $600 on an LP." Coworker: "Carla's right. Why don't you just spend $13 on a CD?" Cage: "First of all, it's because I'm a Beatlemaniac, and second, (holding up the record) these sound better."

In The Breakfast Club, the principal asks the janitor what he had wanted to be when he grew up, he replies, "I wanted to be John Lennon."

The Postman - The President of the United States is Richard Starkey!

Independence Day - Jud Hirsch: "All you need is love.  John Lennon.  Smart man.  Shot in the back - very sad."

Army Of One - Severence "Who is she?"  Deputy Sheriff "She's a meter maid - but she's no Lovely Rita."

My favorite. Cuz it's so true:

Sliding Doors - "Everyone is born knowing every single Beatles lyric. It's ingested into the fetus along with all that amniotic stuff.  In fact, they should be called 'The Fetals' ".

I was watching the Treehouse of Horror episode today and in 'Four Beheadings and a Funeral," the characters played by Lisa and Bart (Eliza Holmes and Dr. Bartley) go to an opium den where it has a sign that says "Happiness is a warm opium."

It might be a Beatles joke, but the Hapiness is... thing was REAL popular in the 60's and 70's. The books Charles Schulz wrote. As in Hapiness is a warm puppy. Kinda where John got the idea for his great song. I think I used to own some of those little books as a kid. I was way into Peanuts for some reason!

I read in an article about John Lennon in "Guitar Magazine" I think it was. That John got the idea from a Ad from a Gun Store.

He did. The ad said something about being happy when you own a gun or some junk like that. But  I'm pretty sure he said his wording came from the Hapiness is thing. Maybe someone has his quote or some info?

I heard in an interview that George Martin (or someone else, I've forgotten) was a gun lover. And it inspired John (a bit) for the song.

Really? I hope it wasn't George Martin, that would lower my opinion of him quite a bit.

I'm guessing now: Mal Evans? He became a sheriff and was murdered being armed. Only an idea. I'm trying to discover more.
