I never liked it.  In fact Family Guy (which oddly enough I see most every night) is only funny in bunches.  More often than not it extends jokes too long, goes way too out there to try and get a shock laugh and in general steps on a LOT of toes.  I suppose if you're doing wicked parody ANYone is ripe for taking a shot.  But when it involves life and death it seems to me that is pushing it.  And it wasn't that long after it happened.  Time equals comedy.

Not even close to the brilliance of Futurama.

Yeah, I've only watched a few episodes of the Family Guy, and they've always been pretty funny. But George screaming? Ugh. I don't think the Simpsons would even go there.

Family Guy is much edgier than the Simpsons.  Think more along the lines of southpark.  And i really cant remember screams specifically, just sort of scuffling noises.

Just saw the lemon tree shelbyville episode.  BArt is wearing a wig and a Shelbyville kid says it makes him "It looks like one of the Beatles"

Ha ha I love that episode.

Bart: "I know you are but what am I?"
Kid: "A garbage man."
Bart: "I know you are but what am I?"
Kid: "A garbage man."
Bart: "I know you are but what am I?"
Kid: "A garbage man."
Bart: "I know you are but what am I?"
Kid: "A garbage man."
Bart: "Takes one to know one."

Edgier than the Simpsons? I must watch more. The Simpsons are very clever and do a lot of subtle satire. They're masters at it.  I don't know about the Family Guy. South Park can be hilarious, but sometimes it's overkill. Matt and Trey are geniuses though! I loved their short film on why America loves guns in Bowling for Columbine. Very funny.  Oh, and I love the guidance counselor. Mmkay. MariJAwuana is bad mmkay.

I really like Family Guy, but not nearly as much as the Simpsons. I also love Futurama. And as for South Park, I'm a casual viewer.

You're so vain, you probably think this post is about you.

http://www.snpp.com/episodes/1F18.html : Bart brings Santa's Little Helper to school. (remember Willie trying to get SLH out of the vent?) Skinner gets fired. He goes to the laundromat and is trying to pick a detergent from the vending machine.

Skinner: Let's see: Tide...Cheer...Bold...Biz...Fab...All...Gain...Wisk.
              I believe today I will try...Bold.

(I would go for Fab!)

Has anyone ever heard a Beatles reference on South Park? Just wondering. I don't remember any.

On a somewhat unrelated topic: My favorite Cartman moment has to be the episode when anytime someone starts singing, "I'm sailing awayyy...." Cartman has to finish the entire song. So the boys keep doing it to him throughout the episode whenever he starts getting on their nerves. He does it in like under 10 seconds! So funny. I believe the episode was called: Cartman's Mom is a Dirty Slut. What a show.

On Everyone Loves Raymond tonight (syndicated rerun) he gets into an elevator with a pretty young blonde girl ... she says 'Hi, my name is Michelle'.  He just looks at his shoes and says 'Like the Beatles."

He then goes on to explain that it was like their song Michelle, which she acknolwledges.
"You probably get that all the time" he says.  "I do, but I still like it." says she with a smile.

Man, they were a cultural milestone alright.
