I think the British/European public have a 'history' with Robbie. Especially from his days in Take That. He was the 'cheeky, young, loveable rogue' kinda thing who got kicked out/left.
Without that connection from his past, I'm afraid that he's a bit of a cocky upstart. lol I think that's part of the reason he ain't cutting it in the US/Canada. I'm not saying that he's not talented. He is a great entertainer. We grew up with him if you know what I mean.
Btw, he should have stuck with Guy Chambers, his latest material is by far his worst yet. Sorry to all Robbie fans if I've caused offence.
There's a lot of self-deprecating (spelling) humour in his act that Americans just might not get. He seems to be more often than not mocking the whole rock star thing.
Yes he is. I'm not a fan of his music, but I still enjoy seeing his live performances on TV. He's just one of those people that were born to be on a stage.

Yeah whyd he split with his songwriter, that guy was good.
Clash of ego's I believe. Guy Chambers had mediocre success with a band called World Party about 8/10 yrs back. Kind of a one hit, one album wonder.
Then they got paired up by their label and now Guy Chambers has made an absolute mint. Robbie decided he could write the tunes himself......Shame really. Chambers brought music credibility to Robbie in my eyes. His popularity certainly has waned a little over here since he tried to launch himself in America.
