Hard to say. I would have to say yes, as its simply more moody and more rockin'. Obscured By Clouds, is in many ways an early version of what became Dark Side Of The Moon. I guess it depends on how you like your Floyd. If you want the more well known post-Dark Side Floyd then obviously, OBC would be better, as it was made well they were writing Dark Side Of The Moon on the road, but if you want something a little bit weirder and more expierimental go with More.

For everyone who has A Saucerful Of Secrets, how do you rate each track?
1.Let There Be More Light 2.Corporal Clegg 3.Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun 4.Jugband Blues 5.A Saucerful Of Secrets 6.See Saw 7.Remember A Day
Each track (except Syd;s own Jugband Blues) gives me the idea that they were all sitting around and saying "Okay, Syd was popular. We need to try and write just like Syd!" but its still great. Corporal Clegg is probably Waters' best anti-war song and the line in Let There Be More Light about "Lucy in the sky" is great.

I enjoy Piper a lot but its a bit too sugary and pop-ish for Floyd. Ofcourse, it wasn't the same band on Piper, it was more like "The Syd Barrett Band". Its great, very jazzy on every track well at the same time very phychedelic. Its kind of what one would imagine a cylidoscope might sound like.

I agree. The great thing about him is that he has restraint. Most drummers think if they just slam as hard and fast as they can they are doing it right. Nick Mason carefully plans out each hit he makes so that it will contribute to the other three as a unit whereas most drummers tend to seem to want to pound and pound to distract from the others.

I knew it!!!!!!!! Just read that Floyd are reforming with Roger Waters and are expected to earn a staggering 130 million UK pounds!!!!!
I am definitely going to that gig when it comes my way!!!!!!
Superb!!!!!!!
oh yeah?? for real?? I read in some magazine that after live 8 they were offered 150 million pounds to do a US tour, and gilmour replied by saying something that they were offered money before and that they won't reform for any money and they played at live 8 because it was for a good cause thats all.... dunno if its reliable though... I hope your story is the real one
but i must agree it would be great if they would do a north american tour...

Not to be patronizing, but if this were true I would know about.

"Meddle" is a great album. Haven't listened to it in a long time. Just one that goes through the cracks, but next to 'The Wall' and 'Animals' its probably my 3rd favorite album by the Floydsters. Also, I'll bet anything they reunite for a tour. Its bound to happen.
