What key was Across the Universe recorded in?  All the books, every one of them, including The Complete Beatles, have the song in the key of D.  But when I play along with it, it isn't D.  It appears to be D flat.  Why would the books have it in a different key, especially The Complete Beatles?

Spector slowed down the initial version.  John played it in D, but Phil slowed it to C#.

yep, second that. the version on 'let it be' sounds slowed down. listen to the gorgeous version on anthology 2, that's the best i think and that's in D.
