3.) Not a real contest. Both Paul and John were craftsmen as Beatles... as solo artists neither filled the same shoes. Problem is John was a more instinctive, natural writer usually...Paul was not. Apples and oranges.
I think a lot has to do with the whole Beatles legend. They came around at the perfect time when people needed to be uplifted and that feeling about them being something special has stayed with them throughout the years. Sort of passed down to each generation. I think a lot of bands at that time put out great music but I don't think any of them evolved as much as the Beatles did in such a short time. Plus the 4 personalities really created amazing chemistry. They each have an good amount of natural charm and charisma. Much more than the members of other groups past and present. I also think that breaking up when they did helped maintain the myth.

have you listened to Don't Pass Me By? and then to follow it up, he did Octopuses Garden. And you say he doesn't compare?
Yes i have listened to those songs, there good and everything, but i still dont think he compared to lennon/mcartney if i were to ask you who is the best songwriter out of john lenon paul mcartney and george harrison and ringo starr i wouldnt have thought anyone would put ringo starr so i just didnt put him.
1. Because they're timeless, their music is still good 40 years later and it will always be good. They had a love for what they did and they had an amazing sound. In all the Beatles were revolutionary, and there's no one better than them. 2. John, Paul, George, & Ringo and none of them can ever be matched or equaled 3. Can't chose between Paul & John although I really love George's songs, Paul and John were more skilled at it.
