I was browsing my local library yesterday, when I stumbled over several novels written by Jane Asher (even translated to Norwegian). I first I thought "Wow, that's a coincidense!" but reading through the information about the author, it was 'our' Asher indeed!
Am I the only one who was so daft I didn't know she was an author?
I felt a bit bad for her though, reading through the information at the back. It went kinda like this:
"JANE ASHER proves her worth with this new novel. - Not only is she a marvellous, captivating writer, but she also has an impressive past as an accomplished actor, journalist, artist and photographer. Yet, here in Norway we know her best as Paul McCartney's ex-girlfriend."
Talk about a career wipe-out! "She did this and this and this, but still, she's his bleedin' ex, right?"
I have no plans to read any of her stuff, but still, it was an itty bitty shock.
You can have my love, you can have my smiles. Forget the bad parts, you don't need them. Just take the music, the goodness, because it's the very best, and it's the part I give most willingly.
