I'm sure you've all been in the situation.

You come home late one night (or early one morning) a little tipsy (or totally lashed out of your head) and you feel that a good thing to do may be to listen to a cd.

What is the best Beatles album or Beatles related album to listen too when drunk?

Back in the World is very good from my expiance.

I would think Beatles For Sale, with the more acoustic and thoughtful, melancholy songs.

I agree with Sun on the White Album.

(now if I were going to twist one up, my choice would change)

BFS to drink by, Rubber Soul to smoke out with.

Pepper for acid/psychedelics.

I would go with 'Obladi-Oblada' or 'All Together Now'.

Yeah but I'm talking about jumping around the place, singing along and waking up the neighbours.

I don't like smoking stuff though. I do at partys but the only thing avalible to cure my thirst is alchoholic and mixing the two really sends me off. No point listening to an album then.

I think you'd have to make a mixed CD or something to drink to good beatles songs. Each album has a few songs that are good for partying.

Abbey Road would seem great for drunkenness....I'd go with Magical Mystery Tour if I had laced my dinner with acid or something.

Yep that's true, you can't really chose 1 album for that. I was thinking about making a psychedellical album, with all the psych. Beatles songs on it.

If I had to chose album, I'd say Sergeant Pepper is the best to drink to. (Or to smoke to..)
Or MMT.

Well, I've never come home tipsy... *giggles* but I'll go with Magical Mystery Tour because, as John said, "... It's so weird..."

The White Album is OK if you want to get utterly depressed. I think Abbey Road is ideal. But then again, I just REALLY like Abbey Road...so, you know.

I can remember making one of my friends listen to I Am the Walrus and he said something like, "What IS this crap?" I reacted "IT'S NOT CRAP. IT'S AWESOMENESS. FEAR IT. LOVE IT. *long pause* It's probably better if you're really high, though."
Had the same sort of conversation with my dad..."I remember that song, Yellow Submarine, that was a big one. But I never got why it was so popular...it was so weird."
"*shrug* Yeah. It's still spiffy, though."
"You could tell they were...on...something."
"You'd have to be pretty high to write about yellow submarines. They don't generally come in that colour, do they?"

For acid and all those trippy types of drugs -- definately Pepper and MMT.

Drinking album...drinking album...Abbey Road and the White Album come up here, to me.  But it'd seem to work better with a mixed CD -- Yellow Submarine, Baby, You're a Rich Man, All Together Now, Maxwell's Silver Hammer, Hello, Goodbye -- sortakinda anthematic songs to sing and slosh around to, heh.

Things they do look awful c-c-cold... yeah, I hope I die before I get old.

If I come home from a big night out, it's Sgt. Pepper's before going to bed.

If I feel like sitting down and have a quiet beer on my own its Abbey Road.

If its a rollicking rolling party, its 1, or the Red/Blue albums.  Friends prefer compilations.

In any case, if they come over to my place, they know they going to be listening to the Beatles a fair bit, so I usually let them pick.

Here's another clue for you all; the Walrus was Paul...
