Anyone else have this book?
I got if because I just love the old pictures. Made my sister buy it for me, heh heh.

I saw a clip of a press conference with the Fab once and a reporter mentioned
Pete Best and John said in a really bored voice 'What's he sueing us for this time?'

This clip was from a video entitled 'JOHN LENNON' Trans Atlantic video. 1990. Cheap bad quality. Box reads 'contains no music performed by the Beatles. Documentary'. Picked it up in a yard sale, what the heck! If it's Beatles I'll buy it!

Back to Pete, I THINK he sued for comments made by the Beatles ( I think it was Ringo) in a Playboy interview which implied Pete had used drugs. The prellies, I imagine.

But like I said, I just love the old pictures!

John: You're just a lonely old man from Liverpool.
Grandfather: But I'm clean!
John: Are ya?

MMm, sounds interesting, although I'm not that keen on the guy, as you say, it's the Beatles, so if I see it around here, I'll go for it!

Oh yeah, me and my sister always have referred to Pete Best  as just 'WORST'. When talking about him we just say 'worst'.
But like I said, I can't resist the pictures!

Pete Best always kind of annoyed me, but I'm like you, I'll buy anything as long as it's Beatles!

You're so vain, you probably think this post is about you.

Pete Beat is actually a really nice guy who had every right to be bitter - it took him a long time to come to terms with his past, but he's doing OK now. Personally I think The Beatles made the right choice in hiring Ringo, but it was REALLY hard on Pete... for obvious reasons. Please don't judge him too harshly

Well, I don't know much about the guy, so I'm gonna take your word for it. You seem to know what you're talking about.

Oh don't get me wrong! I don't like or dislike him. We called him WORST because the wasn't BEST for the Beatles! Ringo was.

Makes me wonder did Jimmy Nicol ever do stuff like sell his story? 'I was a Beatle' that kind of thing? Whatever became of him?

End,
  That's just fab!
Are you in the Motherland (Liverpool)? You're English right?

I was only to England once. Brighton, London and Liverpool. I loved Liverpool most of all. For some reason we had it in our heads that Liverpool was like slums but it was perfectly lovely and the people went out of their way to be nice! I was so surprised that Matthew street was so narrow!

Geez, Alan, you're a regular Mal Evans insider over there!  Hey, tell Paul next time you see him I'm inviting him over for a barbecue.  Any old day will do.

He can bring the.....oh.  Um.  Tell him I'm having a grape stomping instead.  Hopefully nothing against the vegan tenets dancing on grapes and drinking wine.

I'm actually from London Town!!! But I've been to Liverpool loads of times, mostly for the annual Beatle Conventions! You're right, it IS a great place! I'll never forget my first time at the Cavern, decending that stone spiral staircase into that amazing humidity! It's like a tropical climate! Awesome!

Yeah a lot of those soy based products used to be horrible meat substitutes, tho now they've got it down pretty well.  Or the tofu <shudder> tho I suppose it's good if prepared right.

Like in the 70's the cigarette companies tried to  a 'safe' ciggie made out of things like lettuce.  Unsurprisingly, no one wanted them.

Things like lettuce reminds me of the wreath he's wearing:

If the guys at Faber were there in 64 no doubt they'd be Beatle fans.

God, that's a tough call.  A lot of those frat guys didn't like the Beatles since they were far more into drinking and being jocks.  The Beatles were far too effeminate for a lot of those puddin' heads.  In time they came around, but not 1964.

They seemed to be into a lot of R and B! Or is it motown? I don't know. What's that song they play at the party when they go 'A little bit louder now..." ?

Yeah, rowdy party songs was what they seemed to be into more than, say, pop.
