i'm not exactly sure what minute in the song this is, but if u listen closely toward the middle of "i wanna hold your hand" when john is singing "i wanna hold your haaaaaand" i'm pretty sure it's paul adds in the background "not gonna" when john says "wanna" so it's like "im not gonna hold your hand". was this a joke they did, or am i just hearing things?

I know what you're talking about.  When they say, "I tell you something," you hear John whipsering "Something..." And then Paul sings "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" but John forgets the lines, so he says instead, "Ba-dum-ba hold your hand"

It's funny, cos I never heard it before except for this one:

"Oh please, say to me
You'll/And let me be your man
And please say to me
You'll let me hold your hand"

Interesting fact:

Live, John usually sang "I want to hold your head".

I never even noticed that. Interesting.

I just got round to listening to this and you're right.It happens somewhere around 1 minute 26.
I don't think it's intentional and you probably can't hear it in mono.

john was really vague wasnt he? he forgot his phone number an adress all the time i think. he was always just a bit spaced out.

Good ears, Mr. Charlie. There was one verse where it is clear to ME anyway, when they were singing together......Paul: "when I, say that somethin" and John said " when I FEEL that somethin" ...I wanna hold yer hand etc....

they did that stuff a lot, especially early on.  "Hold Me Tight"  It's obvious . " It feels so right"  one guy clearly said SO...hold me tight......another said NOW, hold me tight, and I think there was an MMM me tight. all three different notes on that word.

and three different harmomy parts on (whatever ) ME TIGHT. one was descending , one was ascending, and one stayed in the nuetral zone. very interesting

I can't say if I noticed this but I havenotoiced some muck-ups in other songs where there hasbeen confusion...Please please me I think there is at one stage. But thats an obvious one.

Sorry for dragging up an old post, but after reading this I thought maybe others would be interested too

I never noticed these in IWHYH, but I always noticed that it seemed like somebody flubbed a line in the middle eight of "I'll Get You In the End". Anyone else hear a word or two that's off?

Definitely. At about 1:15 or so Paul sings "I'm gonna make your mind" to John's "I'm gonna change your mind." There's another well-known goof in the stereo version of "Please Please Me" at about 1:25: John sings "Why no I never even try girl" and almost starts laughing when he gets to "Come On, come on..." a few seconds later. But maybe no-one worried too much about a minor mistake in an otherwise good take of a b-side; and the take of "Please Please Me" on the stereo album sounds to me like a different one altogether from the one released on the single.

I always heard the whisper I just never really thought about it. I sing it sometimes!!
