The Who of course, closely followed by Pink Floyd. I have yet to listen to Led Zeppelin, consequently named by John Entwistle and Keith Moon.

Yeah, they had actually left The Who at that point, and were going to make their own band (Led Zeppelin), but they went back to The Who.

led zeppelin>evry1 other hard rock band

i think i would describe theior music as edgy and mystical blues-rock.

A little bit harder? I think Zeppelin is often credited as being the start of heavy metal. I mean compared to Floyd, they're like Matallica! If you listen to classic rock radio, I'm sure you've already heard them.

From an article called How Metal Became Heavy:
Led Zeppelin. The first to pioneer with a new sound; one of the main records in evolution of heavy metal music, formed by ex-Yarbirds members this band introduced a hysterical approach to blues, rock, and Celtic mythology, which was continuously ruptured by guitar riffs and delirious vocals; Led Zeppelin was mainly an idea of rock and roll for a new audience; Jimmy Page (lead guitar) fascination wit the occult, spread rumors that the band practiced black magic. When the instant success of Zeppelin spawned an army of heavy metal imitators, the occult became linked with the music style, especially with bands such as Black Sabbath. These early heavy metal bands started massive group of imitators such as Metallica, Megadeth, AC/DC and others. Each tried to outdo each other in outrageous behavior on and off stage. Led Zeppelin became a handbook case of how a product finds a market without any need for marketing. Their music was completely different from the music that radios and arenas had been playing. However, turned out to be the perfect music to maximize the commercial benefit of free-form radio and arena-size concerts. Led Zeppelin’s success had powerful impact on the recording industry. It defined the long-playing album as rock’s medium of choice Led Zeppelin never had a major “hit” on the on the Billboards charts, but ruled the air wave sand the arenas. The recording industry followed the hint and became marketing albums rather than singles.

Best Bands, I would defintely put Floyd and Beatles, I've always loved The Guess Who, so maybe them?

What do you all think?

I'd like to say thank you on behalf of the group and ourselves, and I hope we pass the audition.

i don't think that they're necesseraly...i think page is a way more talented guitar player than gilmour, bonham is way better than mason in my opinion...robert plant is an awesome frontman...gilmour has a wondeful voice just like plant...they're both good bands, but floyd isn't "obviously" the best... I never doubted Zeppelin you get more votes than floyd...
but hell yeah Floyd rock too...but i never thought there was so much Who fans here..hell yeah the who rock aswell

Page is WAY MORE talented then Gilmour? Have you seen Gilmour play? I'd say they have different styles, but one being more talented than the other is stretching it.
