If  Yoko wouldn't have shared half of Double Fantasy and Milk and Honey then the tracklist of a single Lennnon album in 1980 may have been similar to this:

  1 Just Like (Starting Over)
  2 Nobody Told Me
  3 Clean Up Time
  4 I Don't Wanna Face It
  5 I'm Losing You
6 Forgive Me My Little Flower Princess
  7 Beautiful Boy
  8 I'm Steppin Out
  9 Dear Yoko
10 Borrowed Time
11 Woman
12 Watching The Wheels
13 Grow Old Along With Me

uh...YES!!!

Ok, I have to say this here. I was reading some reviews of Double Fantasy on Amazon and came across a few of them that stated that YOKO'S songs were apparantly the good ones on there, the "hip" ones or whatever. Now, I am not one of those people to underestimate Yoko's talents or whatnot...but I personally feel her songs on this album, for the most part, suck. I liked a few of them at one point, and now and then I can get into "Walking on Thin Ice" or "I'm Moving On" and even "Hard Times are Over"...but the other stuff?

Do people actually think a song as lame as "Yes I'm Your Angel" can be compared to a song like "Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)" or "Give Me Something" to "Watching the Wheels." What is up with that?

I'm all for the new critical and public interest in Yoko's work. I mean, as long as it makes her happy. But I just fail to see how her songwriting can match John's. I mean, even his crappiest stuff...man, Yoko has whole albums made of songs like that. Whatever. I like Yoko and I LOVE the album Season of Glass. But the DF songs just reek of  bad new-wave/techno stuff I try and veer away from. I do like John's version of "Every Man Has a Woman Who Loves Him", though.

I think if you want to really assess her work, you have to look at her POB, Fly, Approximately Infinite Universe, some of her Milk and Honey stuff, Season of Glass, and Rising. Those albums are her best. Double Fantasy Yoko sucks to my ears.

Just my two cents. Anyone else care to share your opinions on the DF/M&H songs from either J or Y? If not, I did.

Several of those songs I love and I am really curious to hear the acoustic disc coming out this fall as he really was inspired at that time.  My track order would be a little different, but I agree, great great stuff...

You can listen to that tracklist and noticed that it could be a great album .. but hardly his best one.

Some of it is good, some of it isn't. That includes both John and Yoko's songs.
