This was a tricky one!
When I was a kid, the BBC would show a Beatle film every Boxing Day (the day after Xmas day). I remember seeing A Hard Day's Night at about the age of 5 and thinking how exciting it was. Then the next year, they showed Help!.
I loved all of the songs in those films and so I decided to ask my Mum if SHE had any Beatle records - and guess what, she did! She gave me her copy of A Hard Day's Night LP and my Dad's Please Please Me LP, and I played them over and over till they literally wore out!
I have of course replaced them now... but I do still have those 2 original LPs, held together by 30-year-old yellowing sellotape (scotch-tape) attached by a heavy-handed little boy back in 1973! The records crackle with age, and sentimentality, but I will NEVER forget the first time I heard those 2 LPs - I was hooked for life, and even at the age of 6, I knew it - and STILL know it!!
One of the first cds I bought for myself was Sgt Pepper's. I stood in the store agonizing over which Beatles album to get because I was only sixteen with limited funds.
