What style of music are these songs written in? I know Paul said it was the "fruity old music" his dad used to listen to, but what is it exactly? it reminds me of the old songs that my nana used to sing like Bicycle Built For Two and A Bushel and a Peck.

Exactly.

Honey Pie is reminiscent of an old 30's Hollywood musical.

64 is more of a pop song from roughly the same era.

OK, 20's.  Except that in the 20's there was no movie sound, hence no musicals. In the early 30's, however.....
