with a little hepo is good but I loe Octopus' Garden, especially as he wrote himself.  I've sung it to every junior class I've taught and they have loved it, a perfect kids song!

Don't Pass Me By....one of Ringo's finest moments which is highly underrated.

It was a hard decision but i will have to say Dont Pass Me By. But the decision made me think for a minute.

My #1 fave is With A Little Help From My Friends...but I agree with the other poster who said that Don't Pass Me By is very underrated.

Hi.
I've always hated Octupus's garden-one of the Beatles' worst moments. But after reading all these posts I'm wondering if I've missed the point.
I know that a sense of humour has always been an intergral part of the B's appeal, and I know that Ringo's unpretentious ordinariness (and  in a business dominated by oversized egos I mean that as a compliment) is a vital part of their magic.
......but those lyrics, the jokey guitar solo, the uninspired melody....
What am I missing?

That's a great song. They should have released "That Means Alot" and "If You've Got Trouble" as a single. I originally was going to go with "Goodnight", but "With A Little Help..." got the vote. It was perfect for Ringo. I've also got to give him credit for taking the lead on "Flying".

Whenever Ringo sings, he sounds awesome.

Although I particularly like his voice in Don't Pass Me By and Octopus's Garden.

What Goes On is my favorite.  It shows the country & western side of The Beatles.  

I voted for Octupus's Garden.  It's very Ringo, he wrote it with a little help from his friend named George though.

Good Night is such a great song. At first I thought it was Paul singing, but now I know it's Ringo. Great vocals in that song. Great lullaby too.

I like Octopus's Garden. The first time I heard it was in the Muppet Show. Robin and Kermit sang it. And Miss Piggy did the "la-la-la"'s.

I like Goodnight too.....Wanna Be Your MAn for me...I may have already mentioned it.

Don't Pass Me By.

Ringo's works as a  Beatle for me are quite a bit disappointing, but the little of his solo work I know of is quite good.

What Goes On is a horrible song. Couldn't think of any other Ringo tunes?

This doesn't count as a song of his, but his part in 'Carry That Weight' gives it a great boost, probably his most powerful vocal. Sounds determined.

Hi again! I'm a newie! I think it's Octopus's Garden. It's one of only two of Ringo's songs the guys recorded (as far as I know). It shows that Ringo did indeed have songwriting talent. I read somewhere that George helped him a bit with it. So he really did get by with a little help from his friend! George once said in an interview that it had a 'cosmic' aspect to it. I can see that there's a spiritual dimension to it. And it's just so charming! And evocative - who doesn't want a place where they can go to feel safe and secure with loved ones!? I think that's what it's all about, at a deeper level. Thanks Ringo! It's got the other guys doing harmonies, so it actually seems like a fully-fledged Beatles song, unlike Don't Pass Me By, which was messd up in production terms. I feel what DPMB needs is the same kind of background vocals as OG. OG is also on the album The Beatles 1967-1970, so it's always seemed to be a Beatles classic, to me. Well, he did one then! Oe out of two aint bad!
