It's great that legendary rock guitarist Eric Clapton got the MBE from the Queen just like the Beatles did 39 years ago but he should have been knighted instead like Paul, Mick Jagger & Elton John because he's been around a long time & it's kind of a lesser honor from my perspective.

no not just like...he is getting a commanders title.there is a big difference layme.......

He should of got the MBE a while ago..and I also think he should be knighted..but what about knighting Ringo??

I think John should have been knighted before he was killed while George should have been knighted before his death & Ringo should be knighted as well jeannie.  It's great that Clapton got his MBE but he should have been knighted which will probably happen in a few more years anyway along with Rod Stewart, Ray Davies, Pete Townshend, Jimmy Page & Ozzy Osbourne in the near future.

oh yeah, it's so not fair that George and John didn't get to be knighted! Like especially John for everything he's done before he died..he would deserve it!!!

I think John would have refused to be knighted. I don't think he believed in all that fake honor stuff. It doesn't mean anything anyway and he knew it. Besides, he became an American citizen and we certainly don't buy into that stuff. But if people think it's great that's fine. I just don't think he would have cared. Going by his previous actions in that area.
