Kansas City/Hey Hey Hey!

They were a ROCK & ROLL band, and when they sang songs like this (like Money, Twist and Shout, Long Tall Sally, I'm Down) they were untouchable IMHO. I read somewhere that they always closed their shows with songs like this, leaving their audiences in drooling frenzies ... good for ticket sales when they returned!

I saw a Youtube live version of this a few weeks back, I could not stop watching it, those guys just exploded more energy off the stage than a nuclear reactor. Just 4 guys, totally amazing ...

I love John,
I love Paul,
And George and Ringo,
I love them all!

You're right, they used to close their shows with some of those songs ... in fact Long Tall Sally, from the Star Club Tapes, is probably my favourite one, it simply made stage explode in that occasion!!!

By the way, welcome to the forums, alexis ... hope you'll enjoy them!!!

Thanks for the welcome raxo, oh ye of 7K+ posts!

BTW ... at one time in my life I owned "Live at the Star Club", and "Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl" LPs. Does anyone know if these are still available in some fashion?

Thanks!

Alexis

Welcom to DM's Alexis.

The Hollywood Bowl album is no longer available. There are bootlegs available of it though. Check out the Bootleg section on this site.

Try this for The Star Club:

Hi Bluemeanie - Thanks for the Star Club tip, I have ordered it!

Re: the Bootleg section (for Hollywood Bowl) ... I couldn't get in with my usual password from this site ... and it looks like it might be closed down ... is there any trick to getting in?

Thanks

You could have saved some money there... It's somewhere in the bootlegsection!

What You're Doing. Great riff, strong vocals, and strong drumming.

'I'll Follow The Sun'. Unfortunately, the damn guitar solo ruins 'What Your Doing' or it might have been an early gem (and I like the song a lot). Never cared for Kansas City as a song.
